Which Anti-Spyware software?There are quite a few Anti Spyware programs around and despite what any of them claim; absolutely none of the anti spyware programs are 100% effective. It’s statistically impossible for an anti spyware program to be 100% effective as it’s always a race to keep ahead of new codes and variants. One of the only things in this world that is a statistical certainty is that you turn blue if you stop breathing! Having said that, you must have some sort of anti spyware protection! Anti Spyware Detection RatesPerformance can be measured by the detection rate of the anti spyware program and this relies heavily on the applications supporting database. Its one thing for the user to be up to date with his anti spyware database by downloading it from the supplier, but how up to date is the supplier’s database?A lot of the anti spyware websites often use peculiar sales techniques with their “scan for free” offers. These scans often find absolutely fu%*ing hundreds or thousands of nasty spyware code on your PC, or so it would appear. Well, we have looked beyond the sales hype, and actually tested some of the anti spyware software. We found that they perform pretty much the same with some minor operating differences. They all look quite different on your screen giving them their own identity.
Making the right choiceBefore you rush off and buy the first Anti Spyware program you find, do some research first. Just type in your favourite search engine something like “Anti Spyware Reviews” and read as many reviews as possible before making your choice. There is nothing stopping you running more than one Anti Spyware program. This may actually help in increasing that all important detection rate a little bit, what one program misses the others may detect and visa versa. Modules chosen for removal can be sent directly to the included file shredder, ensuring complete elimination from your system. For advanced users, it allows you to fix Registry inconsistencies related to adware and to malicious program installations. The handy online-update feature ensures that Spybot always has the most current and complete listings of adware, diallers, and other uninvited system residents. Version 1.4 has the first native multi-installation scanner, noticeably faster than the previous version during scans, and has improved the tools and updated the interface. Spyware ShieldSpybot also includes a Resident Shield called TeaTimer, make sure you select this on install though. One thing is for Sure - You cannot be without an Anti Spyware program! If your computer has ever been infected with uncontrollable popup’s, porn popup’s and dialups, home page hijackers and browser hijackers, you will know exactly what we are talking about won't you!
